Working with variants

Sometimes there may be a need to work with different variants within the same project, so that hypothetical situations in which an element of the project varies, included or eliminated.

This fact will be explained by an example:


Suppose we have the following scenario with 2 roads with a certain flow of traffic assigned to the Roads_2022 group:



The idea is to simulate a second variant in which traffic flow is expected to increase by 2023.To simulate both scenarios within the same project we will proceed as follows:


We create a new group called Highways_2023, we doubled the roads of the Roads_2022 group (with the copy/paste buttons), we will change the name of traffic.



We create a new variant called Highways 2023:



We assign each group to each variant:


We calculate all the variants and observe the differences in each variant:
