Can a material be modeled on Insul from the R and Rw results obtained in laboratory tests?

InsulIt feeds not on acoustic data, but on physical data. In order to find the sound reduction index (R) of a constructive solution,Insulis based on the physical characteristics of the materials that make up it (thickness, density, Young module,...).

If the value of a constructive solution is already available to be supplemented or modified,first first firstshould be modeled inInsuland achieve the same value of R that has been tested in the tests. This is a very good exercise, as it will make subsequent changes to that constructive solution more rigorous.
